In January 2018, the A:R Trio disappeared into the deep snow-covered woods of Chelsea, Québec for a few days, to record at James Stephens's Stove Studio. The result is All the Salt, a collection of fourteen songs and tune medleys, some traditional, some not, from both sides of the pond. The multi-talented Ian Bell, whose song The Mermaid and the Swallow appears on the album, created the sleeve design and artwork.
